Saturday, April 02, 2005:

Boris Vian's "AUTUMN IN PEKING" Event at Book Soup.

TamTam Books' publisher and editor Tosh Berman and "Autumn in Peking" translator Paul Knobloch will be giving a talk, reading and signing for Vian's remarkable novel.

Tosh will give a brief overall review of Boris Vian as a major artist of the 20th century, and the strong need on his part to present and publish this man's literary works. Paul Knobloch will give a reading from the novel as well as a talk about the translation.

Wine will be served and a very limited amount of FREE copies of a CD put together by Tosh regarding Vian and his world will be distributed. Super ultra-rare recordings that will put you right in the front row of the Taboo Club in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. You will feel the heat of that night in 1949 in the heart of the Sunset Strip today.

For those who want to have a signed copy of VIan's book sent to them, please contact Book Soup by phone (310-659-3110) or through the website http://www.booksoup.com
