TamTam Books News

Friday, July 16, 2004:

I was very sad to hear the news about the passing of Arthur Kane of the New York Dolls. Anyone who is familiar with this band’s history would feel sadness as well. First they are (were) a great band, and Kane’s contribution to the band was important. It’s amazing that four members of the New York Dolls have died. All the deaths were tragic –yet what they have left on the cultural front are complete brilliance and a certain ‘trashy’ beauty. I personally don’t want to live in a world without the music of the New York Dolls.

R.I.P. Mr. Kane, you are much admired.
